Women’s Health

Practice yoga in a way that is deeply satisfying, nurturing, and safe for where you are in your pregnancy or postpartum period.

Learn about the instructor
Sarah Silverman loves working with women in a way that is supportive and deeply honorable. She was quite captured by the beauty that was revealed to her about yoga in pregnancy during her first prenatal yoga training with Sue Elkind in 2011. She began teaching prenatal yoga shortly after and has since studied prenatal and postpartum yoga with Linda Spackman. Sarah’s prenatal focus naturally lead her to study more about the process of labor and delivery, and she trained to become a labor doula in 2014 and finished her full Labor Doula Certification in 2016 through CAPPA. She was a member of the New Life Doula Collective for a year before she and her business partner became Bhava owners. Sarah’s prenatal sessions create a space that allows for a woman listen to herself in her experience of pregnancy, helps to prepare her for labor, and to feel empowered. Sarah has found so far that every being’s entry-way into this world of experience is uniquely different, and her work and practice is to support the woman, infant, and their processes in a way that honors them.

Labor Doula Services
What is a labor doula?
A labor doula is a professional trained in childbirth who is there to support a woman during her labor emotionally, physically, and educationally. The purpose of a doula is to encourage a space that allows the mother to listen and to trust her birthing process in whatever form that it takes and to support the mother in a way that allows for her to experience an empowering birth. The doula has an open mind and is there to be fully present for the mother. During each prenatal session the doula and the mother (plus birth partners) talk about and explore what type of support this may include.

Sarah’s Labor Doula package includes:
* 1 prenatal educational session (includes developing a birthing plan)
* 2 prenatal yoga + labor prep sessions (partners welcome)
* Phone/texting support as needed throughout labor and postpartum
* Doula support once it is requested for labor until mother has birthed and no longer needs her doula
* 2 Postpartum visits (this can include postpartum yoga)

Full package costs $750, which can be paid in installments
